How do you play Live Baccarat?

Live Baccarat is a table game that is played with several decks of cards, kept in a ‘shoe’. Cards are dealt out to the player as well as the banker. The main goal is to create a hand whose total points come close to 9 without exceeding it.

Players at the table just need to place a bet on either the Player or the Banker, or the hands ending in a Tie. The dealer than proceeds to deal two cards to each side and the winner is the side closest to the number 9. In some cases, play made advance further to a third card.

How do you count the points in Live Baccarat?

There are some basics rules in place on how to count the points, so it pays to be up to speed on these rules. Pictures cards count as zero, and if the total is over 10 then the left hand digit is dropped. For example, 18 becomes 8 since the 1 is dropped, 15 becomes 5, and so on. Hands worth both 9 and 8 are called “naturals”, with 9 beating the 8. If the player or the banker’s hand has a natural 8 or 9 and the opposing hand has a lower point value, then the natural hand wins.

When is a third card dealt in Live Baccarat?

There are only special circumstances when the third card is dealt. Let’s take into consideration the player’s hand first.

  • If the player’s hand totals to 5 or less, another card will be dealt to him. The same applies for the Banker.
  • If his total is 2, he will draw another card regardless of what the Player’s third card is.
  • If his total is 3, the Banker draws a third card unless the Player’s third card is an 8.
  • If he has 4, the Banker draws unless the Player’s third card is a 0, 1, 8 or 9.
  • If the Banker has 5, he draws if the Player’s third card is a 4, 5, 6 or 7.
  • If the Banker has a 6, then he draws a third card provided that the Player’s third card is a 6 or 7.
  • If the Banker’s total is 7, then he stands.

It is worth keeping in mind these rules to give you a better idea of how the game is being played.

Side bets in Live Baccarat

If the regular betting action doesn’t thrill you enough, then the good news is that our online live casino offers a choice of side bets to spice things up a little bit.

You have the chance to bet on Player Pair, Banker Pair, Perfect Pair, Either Pair, or Big and Small.

The Player Pair and Banker Pair side bets win provided the first two cards dealt to the Player and Banker are a pair. The Either Pair wins if the initial two cards on either the Banker’s or the Player’s hand make a pair while the Perfect Pair wins if the first two Player’s or Banker’s cards form a pair of the same suit. The Big wins if the total of the cards dealt to the Player and Banker make 5 or 6, while the Small pays out if the total between the Player and the Banker’s hands is 4.
